Privacy Policy

I'm Steve Tom, and KenTom is just me. There's no company, no team, no data department. When you contact me or work with me, your information is handled by one person. I believe privacy is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and I've written this policy in plain language so you can actually read it.

A Note on Projects

KenTom is the umbrella for several separate projects (things like Axene, Chiromo Forge, Qailly, Pixen, and Skill Kenya). This policy covers this website and direct contact with me.

Each project is run on its own and handles data differently depending on what it does. So each project has its own privacy policy, and the data you share within a project is managed under that project's specific policy, not this one. When you sign up for or use a particular project, look for the privacy policy published there. If a project doesn't have one yet, or you're not sure how it handles your data, just ask me before you share anything sensitive.

This page tells you how I handle data on the KenTom site itself.

Information I Collect

Information you provide. When you contact me or ask for a quote, you may give me contact information (name, email, phone), project details, and our communication records. Any payment information is processed securely through third-party payment providers; I don't store card details myself.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site I may collect usage data (pages visited, time spent, interaction patterns), device information (browser, operating system), general geographic location (country or city level), and technical data (IP address, cookies and similar technologies).

How I Use Your Information

I use the information I collect to:

  • Provide services. Deliver what you ask for and communicate with you about it.
  • Improve experience. Make the website and the way I work better.
  • Communicate. Send updates and respond to your questions, with your consent.
  • Analytics. Understand how the website is used so I can improve it.
  • Security. Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • Legal compliance. Meet legal obligations and enforce these terms.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

I only share your information in limited circumstances: with trusted service providers who help me operate (hosting, analytics, payment processing); when required by law or to protect my legal rights; and when you explicitly consent.

I never sell your personal information to anyone.

I use essential cookies (required for the site to function), analytics cookies, preference cookies, and, with your consent, marketing cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some may affect how the site works.

Data Security

I take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted transmission (HTTPS/SSL), secure hosting, access controls, and regular backups. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so I can't guarantee absolute security, but I will notify you of any breach as required by law.

Your Rights and Choices

You can access a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, delete your data (subject to legal obligations), object to certain processing, restrict how I use it, request portability, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email me@kentom.co.ke. For data held inside a specific project, raise the request with that project's policy in mind.

Data Retention

I keep personal information only as long as I need it to provide what you asked for, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and keep basic records. When data is no longer needed, I securely delete or anonymise it.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me information, contact me and I will delete it.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, since I rely on third-party hosting and tools. I take reasonable steps to keep it protected in line with this policy.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy as my practices or the law change. When I do, I'll update the date at the top and note material changes. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
